BARNETT, Joan Lee, age 85, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Lebanon, OH, passed away Monday, January 8th, 2018 in Sarasota. Joan was born on September 11, 1932 in Dayton, OH, to the late Thomas and Mildred Norris Himes. She is survived by William E Barnett, her loving husband of 65 years; children, Dr. Robert (Pam) Barnett; Sue (Larry) Haag; Patti (Jim) Smith; sister, Betty Day; brother, Tom Himes; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joan was a graduate of Stivers High School, Class of 1950. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17th, at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 18th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, OH 45459. Entombment will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be sent to St Jude's Hospital, 501 St Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of your choice. It's been a long, marvelous ride, Joan, since our days together at Belmont Elementary School, then meeting again in Oxford when your son was a student there. Loved your red hair, outward, effervescent personality. Always a friend. Another of our "4 Joan's", you, Joan G., Joan N and Audrey Joan, long time friends. We'll miss you a lot. My sincere sympathy to you Bill, and your family.
