Juan is like a brother to me. I will always cherish his friendship, his sense of humor, his intellect and will never forget the many hours we spent watching tennis on TV or discussing issues of the day.

I'm sorry to hear about Papa Cruz's passing. Growing up he was like a second father to me, and I enjoyed learning a lot of his chess knowledge. He will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Juan Cruz. Mrs. (Joy) Cruz, Mario, and Lynn, we know you have the strength of your faith to help you through this difficult loss. My father and Mr. Cruz were lifelong friends, both sons of Guam who left to attend college in the states. Throughout their lives, they always stayed in close contact, so I have many fond memories of visits spent enjoying the company of Mr. and Mrs. Cruz. My family and I will always remember Mr. Cruz for his love of family, calm and quiet nature, passion for chess, and good sense of humor. He was a gentle soul and will always be remembered with love.
Sincerely,
Libby Aguigui Nau, Connor, Tanner, and Kennedy

Sorry to hear of Juan's passing. I enjoyed teaching next door to him at Clearwater High. He had a great sense of humor which most of his students did not get. I really liked to watch him work his abacus to average his grades and throw his massive cast net while standing chest deep in the water. He touched many people in his life. I am glad that I was one of them.
