Kenneth J. Bores, age 78, better known as "Ken" left this earth peacefully on January 12, 2018, but his larger than life persona and trademark stubbornness will not be forgotten.
Ken was born April 23, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to Wanda and Kazmere Bores. He has resided in Cape Coral, Florida for the past 46 years.
Affectionately known as "Kenny" to his family and friends. He was a builder and master craftsman by trade, and owner of Level Construction. Ken loved his children, fishing, cooking and his customers.
Famously opinionated and short tempered, world renowned for his lack of patience not holding back his opinion and knack for telling it like it is.
Ken was generous to a fault, a teddy bear at heart and yet he sugar coated nothing.
Preceded by his mother and father, Wanda and Kazmere Bores, brother Donald Bores, son Douglas Bores and grandson Cody Strickland.
Ken is survived by his daughters Vicky Bores Luckfelt of Cape Coral FL, Priscilla B. Ratliff (Steve) of Asheboro, NC and son Kent Bores of Livingston, TN.
Grandchildren Kasey Miller, Marty Miller, Jonathan Bores, Ricky Bores, Samantha Ratliff and Sierra Bores. Great grandchildren Branson Bores, Marcus Miller and Brock Miller.
Brother Jack Bores (Donna) and special Aunt Jane Martin.
Ken touched many hears and loved many. He will be dearly missed.

We met Kenny in July 2016 when he agreed to take on the renovation of our home in St. James City. The handshake sealed the deal. We are from Canada and a lot of the communication was done with emails, phone calls and photographs. I'm not sure if Kenny was used to dealing with a woman on the phone and having her make decisions, but he told me, "We are partners in this and we will get it done partner!", and that we did. He created an amazing winter home for us, and we will always be grateful to him for the exceptional job that he did. Kenny always made you feel like you were his only customer as he was always readily available by phone and checking in on the place, especially when we were in Canada. Before Hurricane Irma, he came to batten down the hatches for us. Each time he came over I would get a huge heartfelt hug from him. Despite his gruff exterior the thoughtful things he did was endless, wine and glasses in the fridge when the kitchen reno was complete; soap, paper towels and temporary blinds when we came down for an unexpected visit in the middle of construction. He even offered to get us a Christmas tree when we came down for Xmas break last year. Thank you Kenny for all you did for us, we will forever be grateful, and will never forget our Florida friend who made us feel like family!

Carlos & I were lucky enough to meet Kenny when we moved to Cape Coral and purchased our first home. Our remodel contract was signed with a handshake in June 1998 that started a friendship lasting almost 20 years. His heart was boundless. He was one of a kind and we loved him deeply. I am sure he has already started another project in Heaven! Our thoughts and prayers are with Kenny family. Nancy & Carlos Acosta
