Jeff and I met in junior high school; he and his brother, Jim, were my best friends. Even after years of losing touch, I desperately needed a favor and Jeff was there for me without even questioning. I so looked forward to coming home and being old men together...There are simply no words to truly convey both my sense of loss and my sympathies to anyone who truly knew and loved Jeff for the good man he was...the kind of guy who, if you knew him, inspired you to be a little bit better yourself. I know of no other better legacy than this.

My father was a pretty simple man, as long as I can remember. I didn't get to see him or talk to him much in our lives, but what we did see of each other was always enjoyable. I never new a whole lot about him or our family history. The last time I saw him was in 2007, after I finished my military service. We met up in Mammoth Lakes. He was there installing bathroom imenities for a new ski lodge. We hung out for 3 days going up into the mountains, hiking, sightseeing, and doing a little off-roading in my rental car...lol. We even found an old mine shaft that may have been an old gold mine. We went in with 1 flashlight and my dad's old mining experience. We saw a few old things left behind and some mine shafts that appeared to be very old. Along the tunnels we even saw a little animal that looked similar to a chinchilla. Since then, I moved to VA, and was only able to talk on the phone with my dad. When I spoke to him New Years Day, everything seemed ok. I know my dad has been sick for the past 5 years, so I'm glad he is no longer suffering. Even though I didn't have the relationship I wanted with my dad, I am thankful for what we did have and the time we spent together. I love my father, and now may he rest in peace...

Jeff was simple and had a heart of gold, he liked to steer away from negative things. I am pleased to have been so close towards the end, and to know that Thanksgiving and Christmas were "THE BEST HOLIDAYS EVER" stated by Jeff just days before he passed. I am truly going to miss my uncle but find it better to celebrate his life I remember and to cherish that he no longer is ill. Jeff was a great person, tradesman, and mentor to me, I love you Jeff rest easy with your brother, mother, and father.
