I met Gail in 1981 when she was a nurse in the NIU at MCCG. She was my late husband, Dr Morgan A. Cowan's night nurse, and she brought much joy and laughter into his many weeks spent there. I then worked with her in the OR and found her to be both a good nurse and wonderful friend. I had lost contact with Gail, but want to send her family my heartfelt sympathy.

To the children/grands of Gail, I am so sorry for your temporary loss. Yes it is only temporary. I went to Nursing School and also worked with Gail. She was destined to be a clown because she was always making others laugh and smile; without really trying to. She was fun to be around.

I met this wonderful woman in 1979 at The Medical Center. She was a nurse in the Neuro Unit on the 4th floor. Later she came to work in the O.R. and just really took me in as a friend and also to her family. Gail was a very strong independent person that I truly admired. She really enjoyed her life and made so many others happy including myself. I loved her laugh, her facial expressions when telling a story, her glittery eye shadow and watching her dance at parties. I am so glad to have known such a special person in my life. Thanks for the memories Gail. Go make God laugh now.

From our first day in nursing school, to the day we both met up again and decided to go to the OR where we spent many years. It was never a dull moment with Gail. She was a wonderful person that could always find something to laugh about with that beautiful smile, her life made a difference.

Ms. Gail touched my life in many ways. I learned so much from her when I was younger. To this day, I always remember what she told me one year on a trip to St. Simons, "When you are sitting and watching the waves at the ocean, and you see how massive it is, it will make your problems seem like nothing." Even to this day, when I go to the beach I remember that and it brings me comfort.
She was a lot of good things to a lot of people, but she was an amazing mother to Scott, Alan, and Zoe, and an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren. Now she has been given her wings and will forever protect you. I am praying for you all.
Love always,
Donna
