Ruth M. Nagel, nee Speck, 92, of Nashville, Illinois, born September 23, 1925, in Nashville, Illinois, passed away, Monday, January 15, 2018 at Friendship Manor, Nashville, Illinois.
Ruth was a faithful member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, in Nashville. She primarily worked for First National Bank; however, held a number of positions with the city and county, throughout her working career. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 110 Axillary. She loved to dance, played in a pinochle card club, and in her later years, she enjoyed painting. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, Vernon E. Nagel, of Nashville, Illinois; her parents, Ferd and Pearl, nee Ahrens, Speck; a sister, Charlene Wilkey and brother-in-law, Kid Wilkey; and her loving dog, Sweetie.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Shelley (Larry) Harper, of Nashville, Illinois and Kevin (Debbie) Nagel, of St. Charles, Missouri; her grandchildren, Patrick (Erica) Harper, Wendy (Chris) Morris, Ashley (Mark) Mattes, Laurie (Duane) Timmerberg; and seven great grandchildren and one on the way.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Funeral: A brief service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Beverly Kahle officiating. Entombment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
