Elizabeth Chanove Schmidt passed away on January 3, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 23, 1936 to Peter and Elizabeth Chanove.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a housewife and mother. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici and a member of St. Jude Society.
She was the beloved wife of the late James Schmidt.
Mother of Vicki S. Couvillion (Jay), Jamie S. Sones (Tom), and Kraig A. Schmidt.
Grandmother of Eve Couvillion and Lizzy Sones. Sister of Gloria Lowe and the late Conrad Chanove.
Devoted companion to Ernest Bergeron. She is also survived by her compassionate caregiver, Jean Snowton.
The family invites relatives and friends to a visitation at her home on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 10 AM – 12:30 PM. A private memorial service will be held at Hope Mausoleum.
