Daisy Cullen Pitts, age 93, of Stephens City, Virginia passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2018. Daisy was born April 19, 1924 in Washington, D.C. to S. Pearl Cullen and Keen N. Cullen.

Daisy is survived by her beloved children Dana Pitts and wife Deborah, daughter Gaile Hixson; her cherished grandchildren Bryce Hixson (Janette), Paige Hixson, Andrew Pitts (Amber), Dane Hixson(Amanda), Zachary Pitts(Shannon), and Ian Pitts(Megan); and her loving great grandchildren Kaley Haller, Vella Prix Hixson, McKenna Cobb, Indie Hixson, Lily Pitts, Elizabeth Grace Pitts, Jameson Alfred Pitts and soon to arrive in June Duke P. Hixson; her sister Gladys 'Happy' Balderson and husband Donald Balderson; Cousin Donna Jean Gaither and Husband Dr. Robert Gaither; and a host of family and friends.
Daisy was preceded in death by her husband Leo Alfred Pitts; father Keen Nicholas Cullen and mother S. Pearl Cullen.

Daisy loved her church, wherever she was she made sure to be involved in a church. She volunteered at the Culpeper Hospital and the Heart Association in Arlington. Daisy was a skilled homemaker and nurtured every child, grandchild, and great grandchild. She could teach you how to sew on a button, can tomatoes and most importantly make your bed with no wrinkles. Even in her later years Daisy never lost her sense of humor.

A visitation will be in the chapel at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042 on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 pm. Daisy will be laid to rest, with her beloved Leo, at National Memorial Park.

Gaile and Dana and Family,
We want to express our sincere sympathy on the loss of your dear Mother. We have many fond memories of their life with us here in Culpeper. They both sang in the choir with Walt and we were honored to attend their 50th anniversary with all of you at Dana's home. We also enjoyed visits to their home here and also with Daisy in Stephens City. May you find comfort in knowing others share your sorrow.
Much love,
Walt & Hermine Thomas

A Daisy is a little flower that gives off a very sweet aroma no matter where it is. Even when it fades away, you still know where it has been. Just remember her for all she gave off and that earth has no sorrows that heaven cannot heal. God bless you all. Shirley Jackson
