Donald Richard Eisele, 79, of Belleville, Illinois, born, October 19, 1938, in East St Louis, Illinois, passed away, January 15, 2018 in Belleville, Illinois.
Donald possessed a very driven and dedicated persona. He worked as a financial manager at Ralston Purina for over 30 years until his retirement. Donald was a proud St Louis University graduate, where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Business. He loved to attend the college basketball and baseball games where he continued to show his Billiken pride. Donald's number one passion throughout his entire life was playing the piano. He even owned a grand piano that was over one hundred years old. He would play and teach his children and family and often play for his friends and family.
He was also an avid baseball player. Donald played on the baseball team at Assumption High School in 1954, 1955, and 1956. His talents and efforts didn't go unnoticed in his younger years, so much that the American Legion Baseball team invited him to play for the East St Louis team. He also had a passion for finding out about his families' heritage and genealogy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. His most precious memories were those spent with his loved ones. He was a loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his former wife; Mary Lou "Suzi" (nee Woesthaus) Eisele; his parents, George and Irma (nee Tietje) Eisele and his sisters; Marbeth Davies, Vivian Schmitt, Gloria Miller and Joyce Gonzalez.
Surviving are his children; Christine (Rick) Christmann, of Reeds Spring, MO, Jennifer (Chad) Vonarx, of Reno, NV and Greg (Amber) Eisele, of Knoxville, TN, his grandchildren; Joshua (Diana) Brown, Brianna Eisele, Tory Eisele, Taylor Eisele, Emma Vonarx and Corbin Vonarx, his great-grandchildren; Chase and Elizabeth, his brother; Gordon (Jeanne) Eisele and a number of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
