Martha Dexter Calhoon Caroon, 88, of Culpeper passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Dogwood Village of Orange County, VA. She was born October 11, 1929 in Durham, NC to the late Ernest and Emma Beatty Calhoon.
Surviving Mrs. Caroon are her sons James E. Caroon, Jr. and his wife Joy and Wayne L. Caroon and his wife Nancy; granddaugther, Kristie C. Hagney and her husband Frank; grandsons, James E. Caroon III (Jason) and his wife Yvonne and Wayne L. Caroon, Jr. (Chip) and his wife Liz; brother James E. Calhoun and his wife Linda; and sister-in-law, Barbara C. Calhoon. She also has great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Nancy C. Savage and Ernest Calhoon, Jr.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, Attn: Advancement Office, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911
