Donald R. Emler, 55, of Davenport passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center after a brief illness. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Don was born March 15, 1962 in Davenport to Raymond and Patricia (Edgar) Emler. He graduated from Clarence-Lowden High School and Lincoln Technical College. He married Toni Pender and later married Laurie Whitehead. Laurie preceded him in death on August 28th 2014. Don was a military veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was an apartment building maintenance manager for many years.
He is survived by his mother Patricia Hopwood; son, Curtis Castor; daughter, Miriah Emler, all of Davenport; son Jason Harper, Eldridge; brother, Mike (Christa) Emler; sister, Gina (Gene) Kaufman, all of Davenport; sister, Cyndi (Mike) Emler-Hintz, Bettendorf; sister Lynn (Scott) Petersen, Low Moor; brother, David Emler, Texas; sisters, Fran Carlisle, Arkansas and Carol (Greg) Thumma, Coggon, IA; two granddaughters; a grandson; many nephews and nieces and fiancé Roxanne Foster, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Emler; step-father, Jack Hopwood; brother, Paul; grandparents; wife; a great niece and two great nephews.
