Mary Ella (Walker) Ortwein went to be with her Lord early Monday morning January 22, 2018
Mrs. Ortwein was born November 1, 1921 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by Joe Christoper Ortwein, her husband of 60 years, her Father, Jason Walker, her mother Minnie Walker, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two sons, Christoper Walker Ortwein and his wife Janis of rural Byars, Oklahoma and Jay Craig Ortwein and his wife Karen of Moore, Oklahoma. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and their spouses, her great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mary Ella, known affectionately as Lolly by many, graduated from Blackwell High School in 1939 and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Blackwell being a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Mary Ella epitomized the fruit of the Spirit as detailed in I Cor. 13. She was loving, joyful, filled with peace, she was patient, kind, long suffering, and faithful. She did not return evil with evil and kept no record of wrongs.
With her phone and IPad, she kept informed on current events, loved her country, her president, the OKC Thuder and OSU sports.
One of her favorite hymns was "Brighten the Corner where You Are." That she did very, very well.
