Phil was a friend and coworker who made me laugh every day. It is an understatement to say that his contributions will be missed because his skills and knowledge of our technology are irreplaceable. But what I will personally miss the most are his unique sense of humor and the funny things he would say to make instant joy of the mundane. He loved his work and his family very much. We will miss him.

Phil was both a friend and a kind of a surrogate big brother to me growing up. So many memories of afternoons and evenings at the Weinstein home, every one of them-- Bill, Arle, Phil, Robert and Shula-- treating me like family. Even though I was his little sister's friend, Phil walked me home several times when a neighborhood bully became a problem. I will never, ever forget that. Alav Ha-Shalom, my friend. All my love to the Weinstein and Ventrella families. My heart is broken.
