Mr. Bobby Julian Ramsey, age 86, of Covington, GA passed away January 25, 2018. Bobby was born in Cleveland, TN the son of the late Virginia Vell Hamrick Ramsey and Arthur Bryant Ramsey. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Dwayne Ramsey; grandson, Matthew Ramsey; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Bobby served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and after his military service he went to work for General Motors where he retired with 31 plus years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, walking, gardening, traveling, fishing, boating and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Faye Harper Ramsey of Covington; children, Kathy Cobbett of Springfield, TN and Sherry Crawford (Dan) of Bradyville, TN; grandchildren, Stuart Hamilton (Cindy), Nicole Martinez (Edward), Tiffany Holden (Jason), Christopher Cobbett (Erin), and Caitlin Cobbett; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Bobby Ramsey will be on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Riley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
