Virginia Branning Barber, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 27, 2018 in Columbus, MS. She was a resident at The Arrington Assisted Living Community.
Visitation for Mrs. Barber will be Monday, January 29 at 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS. The funeral will be officiated by Rev. Stephen Speaks and Rev. Earl Adams.
Mrs. Barber was born May 8, 1923 in French Camp, MS to Willie Curtis Branning and Daniel Baxter Branning. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Barber. She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Dan) Logan and Cynthia (Tim) Wallace, grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) Wallace, April (Zack) Vowell, Chris (Leslie) Logan and Carter (Paige) Logan and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barber worked for the State Treasurer's office and the State Auditor's office for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS.
