Adelaide Beck Ray, 86, of Rustburg passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Daniel Leotis Ray. Born January 6, 1932, in Rodney, MS, she was the daughter of the late Charles Earnest Beck, Sr. and the late Madie Winferd Youngblood Beck.
Adelaide was homemaker and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Adelaide was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Victor Roberts, Jr. and Lewis Dawson; and one great grandson, Axel Allred.
Adelaide is survived by her children Lona Ray Roberts of Ripley, MS, Charles Daniel Ray (Polly) of Cabot, AR, William Otis Ray (Sheryl) of Texarkana, AR, David Lee Ray (Tammie) of Corinth, MS, Jennie Ray Baskett (Stan) of Memphis, TN, Martha Ray Magee (Rick) of Rustburg, Patricia Ray Palmertree (Byron) of Starkville, MS and Rachel Jenece Ray of Texarkana, AR; one brother, Charles Earnest Beck, JR (Sarah Ann) of Eupora, MS; best friend, Alice Magee of Rustburg; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren with two on the way; and other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Mississippi, followed by interment at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hyland Heights Baptist Church in Rustburg.
