Mr. Edward Surratt, Jr., age 82, of Morganton, was called home quietly on Sunday, April 28, 2019. He was born on April 16, 1937 in Morganton, NC to late Edward Surratt Sr. and the late Fannie Mae Harbison Surratt.
Edward was a graduate of Olive Hill School Class of 1957. He worked at Southern Bell, Drexel and the City of Morganton. He enjoyed fishing and enjoyed living life.
Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by daughter Fannie Victoria Surratt; a brother William Augusta; and four sisters Fannie Lucille, Pricilla Ann, Betty Jean and Ruby Elizabeth.
Those left behind to cherish Edwards memory include his wife, Coy Ann Surratt; his oldest son Edward Surratt III (Elvira) of Hickory, NC; his son Coy Maurice Surratt of Morganton, NC; his oldest daughter Ann Surratt Wilson (Ralph) of Hampton GA; his daughter Marlena Surratt of Huntersville, NC and his daughter LaCindra Surratt Phifer (Darren) of High Point, NC and his surviving sister Brenda Surratt Corpening (Winford) of Morganton, NC; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Edward will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019.at Olive Hill Cemetery in Morganton.
