On June 9, 2020, Billy Richard Massey, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Lago Vista Texas. He was 84 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Massey; his daughter Cindy Terry & son-in-law, Dennis Terry of Lago Vista; his son Todd Massey of Round Rock; grandchildren Chris Cole, Amandee Massey, Todd Massey II, Faith Massey, Austin Massey, Mikaela Massey, and Mia Massey. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Massey.
Bill was born on February 17, 1936 in Bremond, Texas. He entered the USAF after high school in 1955. After the USAF, Bill moved to Clearwater Florida and played softball with the Clearwater Bombers. This is where he met his wife, Judy. They were married in 1960 in Clearwater. They returned to Bill's home state of Texas in 1964.
Bill enjoyed a long successful career as a sales professional and a was great provider for his family. Bill liked working in the yard and watching golf and football on TV.
Bill's favorite hobby was fast pitch softball. He was inducted into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame, Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Hall of Fame, and the Houston Softball Hall of Fame.
His greatest joy in life was his family.
Due to the pandemic, the family will plan for a memorial service for Bill at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made to Saint Mary Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 6100 Lohman Ford Rd, Lago Vista, TX 78645.
